What follows is the August 28th edition of my weekly column written for DIG Magazine.
As another football season arrives, many of us will descend upon LSU’s campus ready to support the home team. Yet, too often, people will choose the away team when selecting their beer of choice for a day of tailgating. Why grab a beer that’s brewed in St. Louis, Milwaukee or Colorado when you can sip on a locally brewed product straight from a purple and gold can?
Tin Roof Brewing Company is located minutes from campus, between LSU and downtown Baton Rouge, on Nicholson Drive. Its Blonde Ale is packaged in a can that just screams to be shown off at tailgates in Tigertown.
Tin Roof Blonde is a wonderful example of the style: light bodied, easy drinking, and appealing to all types of beer drinkers. It pours a golden blonde (go figure), and features a crisp and refreshing finish. At a mere 4.5-percent ABV, this beer is perfect for sipping at tailgates, and it pairs with nearly any cuisine imaginable.
Tin Roof Blonde is widely available throughout Baton Rouge, from grocery stores and bottle shops, to convenience stores and restaurants. Six packs run about $8-9, or look for it on draft all over town. Kick off football season the right way by supporting the home team. Geaux Local!
