SweetWater Brewing to enter Louisiana

17 Apr

SweetWater Brewing recently underwent an expansion, and with it they will be expanding their distribution footprint. According to a press release, Louisiana will be one of three new states they bring their beer to, along with Kentucky and Virginia.

This makes me very happy. My persistence has finally paid off. I bet whoever runs their Twitter account is happy they won’t have to hear me pester them any longer. I’ve long been a fan of their IPA, with it’s wonderful Simcoe aroma while being easy to drink. The wife really likes the Blue, their blueberry ale. And they make some great seasonals as well that I’ll be excited to get my hands on. I can say with certainty that I will always have some SweetWater IPA in my fridge once it shows up here.

Louisiana has gotten great news lately with the introduction of New Belgium this month, Southern Tier next month and now SweetWater. I think breweries are finally realizing that Louisiana has a lot to offer and there is a market for craft beer here. Come on down Deschutes, Bell’s, Founder’s, Lagunitas, Oskar Blues, etc.

Thanks to The Beer Buddha for the heads up on this one.
